Youtube algorithm is damn good. I don't know how, but it identifies what kind of songs you like and plays it randomly (both from the saved Playlist and also out of the saved Palylist) without any break, One song after the other. Usually, I spend the weekends with Youtube songs (Hindi) playing in the background and me going on with my own work on my personal laptop. Both co-exists without any problem. I collect songs with good lyrics and save it to my playlist. But, for the past few days the very Hindi songs that I used to like is now feeling like a torture. To be specific 3rd degree torture. The same lyrics and words are making me feel like.....Why the hell I learned Hindi to this extent.
Even though my mother tongue is Telugu, during my formative years since childhood, I learned both Telugu and Hindi at the same pace. Learning Hindi was not a choice but an obvious thing to me. It will not be an exaggeration, if I say, sometimes I think and respond in Hindi spontaneously.
Now a days, I am after Pakistani songs where it is 70% Hindi and 30% Urdu. I am listening to those Urdu words, finding out their meaning and learning to use those Urdu words in my daily conversation mixing with Hindi. Even though I like it, at the same time I am finding it toxic.
This is what happens when we get involved in something beyond a certain limit. In the movie " Arjun Reddy " there is one dialogue - " Whatever the subject may be, if you go deep into that, only thing that you will be left with is, Zero ".
छोड़ो यार, हिंदी हो या उर्दू साला, दिल पे लगता है.........
To get rid of this, I have to get myself engaged in something even during weekends. Preferably something that keeps me away from the laptop. Will check on that.
